Pineapple


 The homeland of pineapple is Guadeloupe. Christopher Columbus first saw this fruit in 1493. But  pineapple that we have today (I mean sort) on the market have been brought to us from Brazil and spread to whole world from there as well. Commercial plantations of pineapple were established in Philippines, Hawaii, Florida, Southeast Asia and Cuba. It is one of the most popular fruit in the world. To fully understand how good is this fruit I'd like you to join me in its discovery.

1. Let's look inside:
 It have a sweet and juicy taste which provides 15% of sugar, and 85% of water.
 It include organic acids, proteins and carbohydrates.
 Pineapple is a source of dietary fiber (cellulose) which improve digestive process. It's excellent stimulant of energy and good mood because of vitamins and minerals it contain.  
 Vitamins: first of all it's vitamin C (it's even more than in garlic), A, E, PP, beta-carotene and vitamins of Group B. 
 Trace Elements: iodine, potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, phosphorus and zinc.
 Bromelain: a biologically active substance that destroy the enzyme proteins. This element has anti-aging effect, maintaining the tone of the skin and holds it from age changes. His discovery added more popularity to this fruit, even though it located mainly in the "stalk". Based on it many dietary supplement, teas and other homeopathic remedies contain it now.
 Calorie: Pineapple contain from 45-53 calorie per 100 grams, this is why its widely use in diets.   

 2. Benefits of pineapple on health.

 Pineapple have a wide specter of positive effects on human health. However, this qualities could be apply only on fresh pineapple, it have nothing to do with canned one. 
  They are: 
  • Stimulation of digestive system by increasing the enzymatic activity of gastric juice.
  • Decrease blood pressure. 
  • Dilution of the blood, prevention from blood clots.
  • Anti-inflammatory effect.
  • Dissolution of fibrin plugs of varicose veins.
  • Purification of the blood vessels.
  • Elimination of toxins from the body.
The regular consumption of pineapple considered as prevention of decease of cardio-vascular system, such as, atherosclerosis, stroke, myocardial infarct.
It's could be a good addition to the arthritis, bronchitis and pneumonia treatment therapy. Very helpful for central nervous system and as one of the support after getting sunstroke. 
 Pineapple, due to high content of ascorbic acid, is indispensable in flue time, it will help to cope with its first symptoms and malaise.


3. Indication for use:

 In normal quantities, pineapple is very useful for most of the people. Cut pineapple or pineapple juice is recommended between meals, because it stimulate digestion process by increasing enzymatic activity of gastric juice. So, when you ate a roasted lamb leg and polish it with bowl of Borsch after, it's very advisable to drink a glass of pineapple juice or eat a piece of it...if you still have place for it=)   

 Nutritionists recommend to arrange a fasting days, once in a while, during which you can only eat one pineapple. It should be divided into four portion and eaten during the day with no more food. You should drink a lot of water as well! Those days not only helps to get rid of an extra pounds, but also to cleanse the body from toxins and strengthen the immune system.

 Pineapple is female saving fruit because it helps us to cope with painful menstruation. Include it in your daily menu just before the "critical days" and the discomfort will be reduced or may not exist at all.

4. Disadvantages:

 When you eat to much of fresh pineapple it may cause damage to mucous membranes of the mouth and stomach disorder. It's really irritates your tong and lips when you eat it too much. People who have high secretory activity of gastric juice, gastritis and pregnant women should exclude it from the diet.
 Pineapple juice, because of its high acidity can be harmful to the teeth. After use rinse your mouth with fresh water.  
 As everything in our life, pineapple also has its pros and cons, but positive qualities in a huge demanding. It's all the matter of right balance and smart use! Eat smart!
